About the Role
MRCI is looking for a passionate Marine & Turtle Program Manager to lead our conservation programs.

This role combines fieldwork and program management in a remote setting — perfect for someone adaptable, motivated, and ready for challenges.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Program Management
Lead marine conservation projects: reef monitoring, artificial reef construction, coral restoration, and underwater cleanups.
Manage sea turtle monitoring at Ampohana & other sites (nesting, hatching & in-water monitoring).
Collaborate with global partners (Olive Ridley Project, WCS, Korai) and contribute to projects like the GEF-7 Coral Reef Refugia.
Volunteer Training & Coordination
Train volunteers in species ID, survey methods & safety.
Oversee daily activities: surveys, reef cleaning, coral nurseries, turtle monitoring.
Ensure strong orientation in health, safety & fieldwork techniques.
Research & Data Collection
Conduct coral reef health & biodiversity surveys.
Lead turtle patrols, tagging & hatching success monitoring.
Collect, analyse & report data to partners, government & stakeholders.
Community Engagement
Promote sustainable fishing & environmental awareness.
Organise clean-ups & workshops with local communities.
Support school-based environmental education projects.
Partnerships & Reporting
Work closely with PADI AWARE, Ocean Conservancy & more.
Prepare monthly & quarterly reports.
Assist with grants & funding proposals.
✅ Key Qualifications
Education: Degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology (or related).
Experience:
At least 1 year in marine conservation or project management.
Strong knowledge of coral reef ecosystems & sea turtle conservation.
Volunteer management/community outreach experience is a plus.
Certifications:
PADI Divemaster (or equivalent).
Skills:
Leadership, organisation, communication, data analysis, and adaptability.
Personal Attributes:
Passionate, proactive, problem-solving, team-oriented.
