Job Description

Hamilton Island operates a variety of marine-based activities within the beautiful Whitsundays region and along the Great Barrier Reef.

We are currently seeking Snorkel Guides/ Dive Guides for an immediate start

The ideal candidate will be an all-around team player, with a willingness to cross-train across different boats, and in multiple roles. Responsibilities will include (and are not limited to): Guiding snorkellers around the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef; When needed – guiding certified divers, conducting DSDs & other PADI courses; Sales and reservations & Other Crew Duties.

Candidates should be highly motivated individuals, with a strong sense of security, high-risk management, and customer satisfaction, and flexible in the tasks to be performed.

Required Qualifications:

  • PADI Divemaster, OWSI or Above (Renewed & Insured)
  • Senior First Aid, CPR & Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID001, 002, 003)
  • Queensland RSA
  • Manual Drivers Licence

Desirable Skills:

  • PADI Freediving Instructor
  • Master Reef Guide
  • Qualified Service Technician
  • Recreational Boat Licence
  • Exemption 38/ Coxswains licence
  • Radio Operators Licence
  • Elements of Shipboard Safety/ Shipboard Safety Skill Set/ STCW
