We are looking for a Marine Biologist and PADI OWSI to join our team in the Maldives.
The candidate should be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who is flexible and adaptable to work both on their own and as part of a team. A professional attitude during working hours as well as after is very important. We are on a private small island run by RIU resort, we are their guests, and we must behave accordingly.
You will be teaching Ecology/Conservation/Marine Science related topics as well as Padi programs and courses. You will be responsible for driving the conservation and environmental awareness projects and initiatives as well as maintaining the coral nursery, organizing educational presentations for staff and customers, and providing internal reports to management among other tasks and duties. Furthermore, you will also be expected to collaborate with all the tasks carried out at the Dive and Water Sports centre, such as providing information to customers, even when not directly related to Scuba Diving, cleaning equipment as well as the working area, selling, and assisting any other team members with their duties.
- BSc Marine Biology
- PADI OWSI
- Good working knowledge of tropical ecology (Maldives ecosystems are a plus)
- 1-year experience teaching PADI programs and courses
- 1-year experience working on coral conservation and restoration projects
- Fluent in English (other languages are a plus)
We offer a long-term contract, accommodation in a double room, 3 meals a day in the staff canteen, work permit/visa and flight allowance on top of a very attractive salary, composed of basic salary+commissions+Service Charge.
