Management Couple for the 2024 season

Job Description

We are searching for a new management couple for our 2024 season.

We are a small boutique resort on the remote island of Alor in Indonesia, catering to a maximum of 14 divers or snorkelers, specialising in underwater photography and providing a personalised level of service in a family-like atmosphere.

The starting date for the vacant position is mid-April 2024 and you will need to be ready to relocate and arrive at that point. Duration of contract until the end of our 2024 season, December 15th, with the possibility of extension for another season at mutual agreement.

Must bring the following skills/experience:
Previous work experience together in a managing position of a hotel/resort & dive/snorkel centre. A recommendation letter will be asked for.
Previous work experience together in Indonesia.
Previous work experience together in a remote location.
Outgoing, talkative, attentive; safety and customer-oriented attitude and good manners.
Basic knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia and motivation to improve further.
Alor is very remote, most of our team do not speak English.
Also must be a native or fluent English speaker as the majority of our guests have English as their first language.

Basic mechanical skills i.e. basic maintenance of boat engines, compressors, tanks, dive gear, etc. and motivation to learn and improve further.

Confident in working on Google Drive (Sheets/Excel) and accounting procedures.

Own dive & snorkel gear, laptop.

At least one person is a Divemaster or above. Active status is not required, we DO NOT teach any courses nor are we affiliated with any organization.

Must love snorkelling. Many of our clients are experienced snorkelers.
Must love animals. The job comes with cats and dogs.

Further desirable skills/experience:
Experience working together in a high-standard remote Indonesian dive & snorkel resort in a managing position for at least 2 years.
Excellent knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia.
Engineer/Mechanic background or excellent knowledge.
Hotel management/HR/accounting background or excellent knowledge.
Interest & knowledge of underwater photography, own uw-photography gear.
A marine biological background or excellent knowledge.
Experienced freediver/snorkeler. Many of our clients are experienced snorkelers.

The compensation for this job allows for:
Competitive monthly salary to be negotiated prior to starting the contract based on previous experience and skill level.
Monthly cut from the resort tips pool.
Full board accommodation in a private a/c bungalow in the resort with an en-suite hot fresh water shower bathroom and a private garden. Laundry and housekeeping service provided.
Three meals per day together with our guests in the guest restaurant (vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free option available). Soft drinks, cocktails, and beer at cost price.
Monthly phone/internet balance for personal & reasonable use paid by the company.

Return airfare at the start and beginning of the contract from a major Indonesian hub (i.e. DPS/CGK).
Generous allotment of holiday/personal days.
Working permits/visas for Indonesia are arranged and paid for by the company with option for renewal on mutual agreement.
