Dive Instructor – Great Barrier Reef

PADI  INSTRUCTOR

Since 1983 we developed and maintained an international reputation as the premier dive company in Cairns.  We offer the highest quality and best value liveaboard trips to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Our 3 multi-million dollar purpose-built dive vessels provide unquestionably the very best outer reef liveaboard experience in Cairns.

Currently, we are seeking applications from PADI Dive Instructors to teach all levels of PADI courses.  Preference will be given to INSTRUCTORS ELIGIBLE TO HOLD AN AUSTRALIAN WORKING HOLIDAY VISA OR AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS.

In keeping with the high level of professional service we provide, Instructors employed are required to hold the following Qualifications:

A current and valid Working Holiday Visa or Australian Resident
Current teaching status as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher rating.
Nitrox Specialty Instructor
A current Australian Standard 2299  Diving medical (can be arranged in Cairns)
I currently have a senior 1st aid certification. (PADI EFR or EFR INSTRUCTOR not valid)
A current (12 months) certification in Oxygen Resuscitation.
A valid motor vehicle driver’s license, held for a minimum of three consecutive years
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety at Sea or STCW 95
Recreational shipmasters licence
Cert IV in TAE (Training and Assessment at Workplace) preferred
Further, we are seeking people with the following skills and personal attributes:

• Professional presentation
• Good knowledge of all PADI courses
• Good sales skills
• A boating background or sound knowledge of boats and boating skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent team worker
• Experience in operations at Dive Holiday Destinations
• Very Customer orientated
• Outgoing but not overbearing personality
• Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
• Multi-lingual is always a big plus (German, French, Italian, etc)

Our selection process will involve a formal interview held in Cairns as well a 5-day training/orientation trip to assess each candidate’s suitability to our organisation.
