Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The employee will become a Dive & Activity Centre team member on the ground and in the water. The employee will be involved in planning all activities, hosting clients, teaching the entire PADI curriculum and preparing, skippering, and maintaining boats. In addition, the employee will be required to maintain and service scuba equipment and operate compressors. Daily work schedules will follow the instruction of the activity centre manager/s. The employee will be trained in organizing and conducting non-diving activities and excursions to the highest level of customer service and client satisfaction including snorkelling trips, marine life safaris, guided kayak/ SUP trips, conservation talks and occasional other guest-based activities such as setting up picnics or sunset drinks on the beach or by boat. In addition, the employee will contribute to the day-to-day running of the dive centre including general maintenance of the recreational area.

ROLES AND DUTIES

The Employee will be involved in all aspects of working at the activities centre including:

Leading fun dives
Conducting PADI courses
Conducting guided snorkelling excursions
Leading Kayak / SUP excursions
Participation in island visits and picnic/ BBQ set-ups
Filling cylinders & maintaining compressor
Cleaning, maintaining and skippering dive & activity boat trips
Socialising and hosting clients in the evenings

MINIMUM PRE-REQUISITES

Active Status PADI Instructor
Skipper License with prior experience on vessels (min. Powerboat Lvl 2)
STCW 95/2010
20+ students certified
300+ logged dives
First Aid trained / EFR active status

Other desirable qualities and qualifications include:

Underwater photography, videography & editing
Prior boat handling/skippering experience
Outboard engine maintenance knowledge
Conservation and wildlife guiding experience
Education in marine science/conservation
Compressor use/maintenance experience
Prior experience living in a remote destination
Language skills (French, German, Russian)

The employee will be expected to provide the following for themselves:

Expenses for GOP medical evaluations at home before arriving
