Our DC is NOW looking to hire a dive instructor to run our shop. Situated in the Guatemalan Highlands, Lake Atitlan offers a unique location and challenges for any instructor. From buoyancy control in the cool, high-altitude, freshwater lake to group control in limited visibility. This is a great place to gain experience and expand your diving horizons.
We are located inside of La Iguana Perdida Hostel in Santa Cruz la Laguna. It is a small town accessible only by boat that does not have many modern conveniences readily available. For the right candidate, however, anything you need is not too far away.
We are looking for a PADI OWSI with fluent English and Spanish. In-water duties will range at every level from DSD to Rescue/EFR. As well we adhere to the highest industry standards and will expect each course to be conducted accordingly. Out-of-water duties can include filling tanks; cleaning, organizing and maintaining equipment; answering emails, taking payments and arranging the schedule. Most bookings are made online in advance, but a definite bonus is someone who has no problem hanging around the hostel and getting people talking about diving.
All dives and courses are paid out on a competitive commission basis. Free housing in a private room, breakfast, staff lunch and communal dinner are provided and drinks are half-price.
