Christopher Smith
About Candidate
My name is Chris and I am a PADI OWSI from the United States. I started my journey into being a diving professional in 2024, when I did my Dive Master internship in Paihia, New Zealand. There I learned safe guiding techniques and how to handle cold water with a wetsuit. I also gained experience wreck and deep diving on the Canterbury and Rainbow Warrior wrecks. In April 2025, I completed my IDC and passed my exams to become an instructor.
I served in the United States Air Force for 10 years as a weapons maintenance technician and have worked in the microchip industry building robots. That means not only do I know how to put in hard work and follow directions, but I am also safety and detail oriented.
I want to further my experience working as a diving instructor, to include becoming qualified in multiple specialties and getting into unwavering photography.
I also have a partner, Emily, who is a PADI OWSI as well. Emily is from the United Kingdom, has 5 years working as an instructor, and is fluent in Enlish and Spanish. She has worked in Spain, Oman, and New Zeland. Emily is proficient at underwater photography and social media management. She is also working with Cressi as a brand ambassador and is featured on their social media.
Emily and I are open to roles working as instructors. Emily is also open to work related to social media management and underwater photography. Ideally, we would like to find work for both of us, if it is available.
