Education
I attended the University of Portsmouth from 2014 to 2017, earning my honours degree in marine biology. My studies included a final research project where I went to Greece to study Loggerhead sea turtles.
Work & Experience
– Guiding, Teaching DSDs, Tune ups, Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses
– Assisting on Divemaster and instructor tryouts for twinset and Sidemount.
– Teaching as part of a team to train university students through their BSAC qualifications
– Guiding new and experienced divers, both shore diving and boat diving
– Taught courses from DSD to rescue diver, as well as several speciality courses
– Set up and ran a coral nursery, gave weekly presentations to guests, and rescued wildlife (in my role as marine biologist)
– Worked in the retail shop, including taking stock counts and completing revenue reports, selling diving and other activities, as well as equipment
– Received elite hospitality training as part of the resorts successful bid to become a Forbes 5 star resort
– Taught a large volume of non-PADI DSDs (up to 30 a day) and taught sufficient PADI courses to reach MSDT rating
– Went to hotels doing pool shows to try and sell diving (DSDs, courses and fun dives)
