Dive Centre Bondi, a busy 5-Star PADI IDC Centre and active GUE Centre in the heart of Bondi, is looking for a conscientious, experienced, and enthusiastic Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) to join our dynamic team.

This is a unique and varied role starting as Casual Employment at a rate of $34.89 per hour.

For the right candidate, there is potential to transition to a Full-Time Permanent role with an annual salary of approximately $73,000 + per year.

The position splits your time between the rewarding work of dive instruction and the essential operations of our thriving retail space. The Role: Instructor & Retail Specialist
This is a casual employment role, up to 5 days per week, including weekends (Sat/Sun).
Instruction

As an instructor, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of PADI courses, ensuring safety, quality, and an exceptional student experience:

• Teaching every level of PADI course from Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) right through to Divemaster (DM).
• Leading regular guided shore and boat dives.
• A major bonus if you are a PADI Staff Instructor or Master Instructor, as you will have the opportunity to assist with our frequent Instructor Development Courses (IDCs).
• Retail & Operations
• You will be an integral part of our shop team, helping maintain the high standard of customer service that keeps our centre buzzing:
• Retail Sales: Assisting customers with high-quality equipment selection, sales, and rental.
• Bookings: Managing course, dive, and service bookings.
• Cylinder Filling: Conducting Air, Nitrox, and Trimix fills.

Servicing: Assisting the team with basic equipment servicing.

 What We’re Looking For:

• The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with proven experience and a drive for excellence.
• Essential Background & Skills:
• Current PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) status.
• A minimum of 2 years of active teaching experience as an OWSI.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
• Highly Desirable Skills (Big Pluses!):
• Retail Experience: Previous experience in equipment sales or a similar retail environment.
• Servicing Experience: Experience with basic dive equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Technical Diving Knowledge: A working knowledge of technical diving (GUE, sidemount, twinset, decompression theory, etc.) to assist high-level customers.
• PADI Staff or Master Instructor rating.

Working Rights & Visa Requirements (MUST READ)

You must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.

• Visa Requirement: Candidates on a temporary visa must have a minimum of 12 months of validity remaining on their Australian work visa (e.g., Working Holiday Visa, Partner Visa, etc.).
• Sponsorship: We are not in a position to offer visa sponsorship during your first year of employment.
