PADI Instructor

Job Description

We are looking for experienced, long term individual instructors or an instructor couple to start work at the end of 2025. Our small but busy dive centre and rental operation in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands is seeking instructors that are willing to work for at least 1 to 2 years for us. This is not a seasonal position.

The main tasks will be taking certified divers out on guided dive trips around the island and conducting courses and introduction dives. We keep our boat on the trailer so being comfortable driving (and reversing) single axle trailers is a must. You should also be an experienced boat handler or willing to learn. Rarotonga frequently experiences strong winds so choppy waters should not be an issue.
When not diving, you will also be helping out with our rentals – snorkel gear, kayaks, bicycles and scooters.
We are a small company and everyone helps in all aspects of running our day to day business.

• experienced guiding certified divers
• good underwater navigation skills
• experienced boat skipper with license (or willing to learn and gain here)
• good at reversing single axle trailer
• car and motorcycle drivers license
• punctual and reliable, always on time (absolute must)
• good humour (not grumpy)
• fluent in English
• able to work well solo and in a team
• good communication skills (not with AI)
• good physical condition
• willing to also help out and work in other aspects of our business (rentals)
• able to function without looking at your phone
• willing to work on a small tropical island in the middle of the South-Pacific
• able to start at the end of 2025 and willing to stay for 2 years

• Number of logged dives
• Boat handling experience and type of license (if any)
• Drivers license class (must be able to drive manual)

• Cylinder filling experience (if any)
• Additional skills: reversing trailer, regulator servicing, gas blending,…
