Job Description
We are looking for certified dive instructors who are passionate about diving! Our company is growing and we are looking for dive instructors to lead our daily dive trips and teach customers from discovery divers to dive masters and everything in between!
Qualifications:
No need to have prior professional experience, we will train you if you are a PADI OWSI in active status.
Currently certified in First Aid & CPR
Ability to perform and pass random drug screenings to satisfy Coast Guard requirements
Ability to stand for long periods, load and unload scuba tanks, lift up to 50 lbs, bend & squat, and climb a ladder
Customer service skills
You will be responsible for your annual PADI membership and drug consortium fees (Approx $100).
You will need to either be a member of a drug consortium or join upon arrival
Authorized to work within the United States
Covid 19 Vaccinated – we are a government subcontractor so it is required that all staff be fully vaccinated for Covid 19
Schedule:
Low Key Watersports is open 365 days a year, but holidays are when we are busiest. Our typical day is usually 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., although half–days are occasionally required. Our morning and afternoon trips are 2-tank dives. We also have weekly 1-tank night dives and 3-tank wreck trips. Our full-time crew works 40-50 hours a week, but this varies depending on the time of year.
Job Responsibilities:
Guiding certified divers and snorkelers including readying the gear and boat, cleaning and returning the gear and refilling tanks after the dives
Teaching discovery dives, open water courses, advanced open water courses, refreshers and rescue diver courses within PADI standards
Provide divers with dive site briefings, safety information, environmental/conservation information and post-dive debriefs
Prepare all equipment, paperwork, and materials for conducting classes and processing your students through the PADI website
Checking waivers and student paperwork before the dives
First mate responsibilities such as tying up the boat to a dock, mooring and anchoring a boat, emergency procedures, diving from a boat, etc.
Filling tanks and renting scuba gear to customers, including checking waivers and bookings, briefing customers on gear use and checking in gear when returned
All of our dives are stationary so you will be navigating guests away from the boat and bringing them back safely and on time.
