Job description:
We are looking for a responsible and flexible single instructor to independently operate a small dive school on a beautiful, tiny, exclusive island in the Maldives. The island possesses just 30 luxury villas and can be circumnavigated in less than 10 minutes. A healthy reef encircles its green interior and white beaches, and the island is famous for diving and snorkelling, both on the house reef and on the spectacular dive sites in the vicinity.

You would run the complete dive school operation daily, so you would not only guide dives and teach courses but also greet diving guests, fill tanks, maintain and clean the dive school and dive equipment, and handle sales, billing, and administration. The resort operates with a small team of expatriates and local staff, and you would be an integral part of the management team.

The island has won many awards in recent years. The dive centre and watersports/excursion centre share one location on the island so you would work particularly closely with the watersports/excursion staff. Due to the small size of the island, it would be essential that any interested individual would enjoy working and living in this intimate environment. You would also need to possess enough experience to manage the operation successfully, and our guests like a friendly personality with excellent customer service skills.

The initial contract would be for 11 months beginning between now and April 1st, 2025. Ideally, you would be able to teach in German and English, and any other languages, such as Spanish, would be very useful. The contract is extendable by mutual consent. In high season and busy periods, a second dive guide will join you on the island to help you manage the increased business.

Ideally, you should also be a PADI instructor and an SSI instructor. Any other qualifications or skills you may possess involving equipment maintenance, compressor operation, Marine biology, videography, etc., would be useful as well. We currently teach both PADI and SSI courses on Kandolhu.
