We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sales Representative to represent Mares (premium scuba, snorkelling, and freediving/spearfishing equipment) and SSI (Scuba Schools International—a leading dive training and certification agency) across Southern Africa.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Aqua Divers, you will drive sales growth, build strong relationships with dive centers, retailers, and training facilities, and promote both equipment and educational programs in a growing diving market.

Aqua Divers is the authorized Mares Diving Equipment wholesaler and SSI Service Center for the Southern Africa region. We proudly serve the scuba diving community by distributing top-quality gear and providing essential SSI training and support services across the area.

Job responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve targets for Mares gear and SSI courses/certifications.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of B2B accounts, including dive shops, resorts and training centers, throughout South Africa, Mozambique, and other Southern African territories.
• Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops for dealers and dive professionals on Mares equipment features;
• Conduct sales presentations; demonstrations of SSI’s digital training platform and product benefits to dive center owners, managers, and instructors; and SSI training standards/systems.
• Identify and prospect new business opportunities, including emerging dive destinations and retail partners.
• Provide excellent after-sales support, including product knowledge, warranty coordination, gear servicing referrals, and marketing assistance;
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and diving industry developments in the region.
• Prepare sales reports and forecasts and participate in regional trade events, dive shows, and promotional activities;
• Travel extensively within Southern Africa to visit clients, attend dive expos, and support field promotions. Requirements
• Proven sales experience in the diving industry, watersports, outdoor retail, or related B2B field (scuba equipment or training agency sales preferred).

• Active diving certification (ideally SSI Instructor or equivalent; strong scuba knowledge required).
• Deep product knowledge of diving equipment and training programs (familiarity with Mares and SSI is a strong advantage).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with a target-driven mindset and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally (including occasional international events).
• Fluency in English, Afrikaans and/or other regional languages is advantageous.
