Multilingual / Bilingual Dive Instructor—Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Experience:
1-3 Years
Language requirements:
French, German, Russian, Spanish, Mandarin

Island Scuba is known for Wreck diving and specializes in personalized, small-group diving experiences while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Fluency in English plus one or more of the following languages:
French, German, Spanish, Russian, and/or Mandarin.

About the Role
This opportunity is perfect for a qualified diving instructor residing in Sri Lanka, whether you are a local resident, or foreign national seeking employment in the diving industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teach PADI scuba diving courses from beginner to advanced levels.
    Conduct specialty courses including Enriched Air (Nitrox), Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver specialties. Rescue is a plus.
    Lead guided dives for certified divers with a strong focus on wreck diving.
    Ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests in and out of the water.
    Promote and upsell dives, courses, and other related products offered by the dive center.
    Fill scuba cylinders and support compressor operations as part of the daily workflow of a small dive center.
    Create a welcoming and positive experience for international visitors.
    Promote environmentally responsible diving practices.
    Support daily dive center operations and guest services.

What We’re Looking For

  • A PADI-certified Diving Instructor with proven professional experience as a diving instructor.
    A strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
    Positive attitude and the ability to work with divers from different cultures.
    Current first aid, CPR, and emergency response certifications.
    Ability to adapt to local culture without compromising the safety of the operation.
    Experience with dive equipment servicing, maintenance, and compressor operation is highly desirable.
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with divers and encourage repeat business.
